Financial Issues and Smoking

Smoking costs a lot of money in general so why do keep buying cigarettes? The truth is tobacco is very addicting the the tobacco industries know that which is why they continue to raise the tax of them because they know if people are addicted enough, they will keep buying them. If a person was to buy a pack of cigarettes every day just for ten years, the money spent would eventually be enough that you could have purchased a car with it. One pack of cigarettes with about 21 in a pack costs around 10 bucks. If you keep adding that up it not only would you have spent around 51.,000 dollars a year, but you'd probably have to spend more just on the medical costs of getting sick from the smoke. With the prices these days, it's just gonna keep getting worse so people minaswell stop smoking now.

Rising Tobacco Prices

The stock prices of from British American Tobacco and Imperial Tobacco have hit record highs in the past 12 months. Tobacco firms all around the world have become one of the biggest money makers of the financial developement in the world. Even though cigarettes kill about 6 million people a year, they still continue to rob people of their money by rises the prices of cigarettes while still getting the satifaction of killing them in the process. Although I will say in a way it could help people quit smoking and destroy the tobacco industry because so many people will not be able to afford cigarettes; especially in the future when prices go up even more.

Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?

In the filter part of the electronic cigarette is a rechargeable battery-operated heating device used  to vaporize the nicotine into a replaceable cartridge. The Nicotine is typically dissolved into something called propylene glycol, which is a clear and colorless liquid usually found in inhalers and cough medicines. Nicotine is basically seen as a stimulate so it's hard to determine whether or not it is bad for you. If it is bad then it's just as bad as caffine or a cup of coffee. E - cigs are much safer because they only contain two chemicals as opposed to tobacco filled cigarettes which contain around 5,000 cancer causing chemicals. Although there has been some talk of them having a couple users develop lung problems, it is hard to say if they e- cig is to blame. Researchers are still trying to find evidence on whelther or not e- cigs are really as safe as they claim to be.

Tobacco: Risky Business

Tobacco has become a huge issue in our economy today. Although the tobacco businesses are one of the most profitable businesses in the United States alone, and they make billions and billions of dollars, smoking is causing people to be checked into hospitals. This is creating over a billion dollars a year for hospital expenses due to health risks cause by smoking which includes, bronchitis, lung cancer, strep throat, mouth cancer, and much more. Our economy and the workers in the united States are having millions of dollars taken from them because of the harmful effects and smoking and the tobacco businesses are just laughing in the distance.

Electronic Cigarette VS Tobacco

http://www.thesmartstyleliving.com/ereviewsa.asp?o1=ECIG1&source=wam&c1=wam&popup=
There has been  lots of conversation over the new E- Cigarettes available for smokers  who are either trying to quit smoking or create a safer smoke free environment for those around them. There are many benefits to using E- cigs instead of regular cigarettes. Some of the most obvious ones are:
  •  They have no tar, smoke, tobacco, or ash in them
  • no more second hand smoke
  •  no more smoke smell or breath
  •  it saves frequent spenders of cigarettes over 1,000 dollars a year depending on how many cigarettes they smoke a day.
  • Just as much nicotine as a normal cigarette.
  • One cartridge is only $2.00 and is equivalent to a whole pack of regular cigarettes.
  • It is clean and none pollutant filled so it is safe for the environment.
Doctors all over the world say that they are very safe and that it  is virtually impossible to get cancer. Also in the United States alone, around 700,000 people have switched to these cigarettes and will now become healthier and with a small chance of developing any types of cancer caused by smoking. According to researches at the University of Boston, electronic cigarettes were safer than real cigarettes and may aid in breaking the habit of smoking. "Electronic cigarettes were found to be "much safer" than traditional tobacco ones, and had a level of toxicity similar to existing nicotine replacements"( Smart Style Living). With this in mind, smokers and non smokers all over the world can live a happier life knowing that their is an option to smoke safely for you, your family, and everyone around you.
